Discounted Work Terms

These terms apply to any free, discounted, charity, portfolio, family-and-friends, or goodwill projects completed by Barker Studio.
By accepting work from Barker Studio under a discounted or complimentary arrangement, you agree to the following terms.
Nature of Work
Barker Studio may occasionally offer:

Discounted services
-
Charity or non-profit work
-
Friends and family pricing
-
Portfolio or case-study projects
-
Promotional or goodwill work
These projects are provided voluntarily and may differ from standard paid services.
Scope of Work
The agreed scope of work will be outlined before the project begins.
Any requests outside the agreed scope may:

Be declined
-
Be quoted separately
-
Require moving onto a paid agreement
Free or discounted work does not include unlimited revisions or ongoing development unless explicitly agreed.
Project Timelines & Priorities
Paid client work will always take priority over complimentary or reduced-rate projects.
As a result:

Timelines may be longer
-
Work may be completed in stages
-
Delays may occur during busy periods
Barker Studio will still aim to communicate clearly and complete projects professionally.
Client Responsibilities
You agree to:

Provide content, images, and information when requested

Respond to communication within a reasonable timeframe

Provide honest and respectful feedback
-
Supply materials you have permission to use
Delays in communication or missing content may pause or cancel the project.
Ownership & Portfolio Rights
Unless otherwise agreed:

Barker Studio retains the right to showcase the project in portfolios, social media, and marketing materials

The project may be used as a case study or promotional example
If the project is free or heavily discounted, Barker Studio may also retain certain design or development rights unless full ownership is specifically transferred in writing.
Hosting, Domains & Third-Party Costs
Free or discounted projects may still require external costs such as:

Website hosting

Domain names
-
Premium plugins
-
Third-party subscriptions
These costs are the responsibility of the client unless otherwise agreed.
Website Hosting & Third-Party Services
If your project uses third-party platforms, plugins, software, hosting providers, or integrations, Barker Studio is not liable for outages, downtime, pricing changes, or technical issues caused by those third parties.
We will provide reasonable support where possible but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service from external providers.
Ongoing Support
Complimentary or reduced-rate projects do not automatically include:

Ongoing edits

Unlimited support
-
Future redesigns
-
Technical maintenance
Future work may be quoted separately.
Respectful Communication
Barker Studio reserves the right to pause or terminate work where communication becomes:

Abusive
-
Disrespectful
-
Excessively demanding
-
Unreasonable in relation to the agreed arrangement
Right to Decline or Withdraw
Barker Studio may decline, pause, or withdraw complimentary work at any stage if:

Project requirements significantly change
-
Communication breaks down
-
The project no longer aligns with business priorities
-
There is misuse of goodwill arrangements
Liability
All complimentary or discounted work is provided in good faith.
Barker Studio is not liable for:

Business losses
-
Downtime
-
Third-party issues
-
Missed revenue
-
Indirect or consequential damages
Acceptance
By proceeding with a complimentary or discounted project, you acknowledge and accept these terms.
